On Sunday, Sept. 6, family and friends celebrated the 100th birthday of Polly Steinruck. Approximately 80 people were in attendance with a parade and a luncheon. Steinruck was born in Buckingham County. She attended Longwood College and was a school teacher. She stayed home by herself until she was 97 years old. Steinruck now resides at Heritage Hall in Dillwyn.
