Two killed in Saturday wreck

One adult and one child are dead after a tragic car accident in Buckingham County Saturday, July 11.

The two-car collision occurred at approximately 4:46 p.m. Saturday, July 11, on Route 15 just south of Route 715 in Buckingham County, according to Virginia State Police (VSP) Trooper R. Chambliss.

A 2005 Honda Accord driven by Nashon Arrington, 25, of Farmville, was headed southbound on Route 15 when it crossed the centerline and into the path of a 2007 Ford Taurus heading northbound.

Chambliss said as the cars met, both vehicles turned off onto the shoulder, where the collision occurred.

Arrington died at the scene as a result of his injuries. A child passenger in the Taurus succumbed to their injuries the following day, Sunday, July 12. Four others were severely injured in the crash, including three children.

Chambliss said the incident remains under investigation.
