Riley David Bowman Sr., 88 of Rice, Virginia passed away on June 22, 2020 at home surrounded by family. He is the husband of Blondell Bowman. He was a tobacco farmer who loved to work, collect civil war relics, Indian artifacts and anything antique. He was a charter member of the Rice Volunteer Fire Department and now was serving as an honorary member. He was a deacon at Pisgah Baptist Church and loved to sing in the choir and spend time with his family and his dog Lacie.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Louisa Bowman, 5 brothers; Walter, Ralph, Corbett, Acie and Columbus Bowman, 4 sisters; Lillian Duncan, Jocie Berry, Della Murray, Lucy Thompson and a granddaughter Erika Bowman.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Blondell, 2 sons; Riley David Bowman Jr. (Tyra) of Rice and Daniel Lee Bowman (Amy) of Farmville, 2 daughters; Donna Bowman Nunnally (Dwayne) of Rice and Dianne Bowman Daniel (Dennis) of Rice, 1 sister; Florence Miles, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, PO Box 66, Meherrin, VA 23954. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 5:00PM in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
