Like many seniors, my granddaughter graduated this past week from Buckingham High School, and while not quite the traditional commencement, it was beautifully planned and very memorable indeed.

At an appointed time and with family and friends on the sidelines, the graduate walked the length of the football field to a platform where a dignitary presented the diploma and a commencement program. Large portraits of each graduate were hung around the field and presented to the graduate afterwards.

While the balloons and flowers made the day festive, it was the big 20-20 on the scoreboard overlooking everything that made the day even more special.

Much thought and hours of preparation went into this commencement, and it was a job well done bringing a feeling of pride, accomplishment and happiness to everyone, especially the well-deserving 2020 graduates.
