Damage to a Kinex Telecom fiber data line has parts of Farmville without internet and VOiP phone service Thursday. The issue is not expected to be fixed until the end of the day.

A Kinex representative said the outage is a major cut of a fiber data line. It is not a quick fix. The company is working to establish a temporary fix to bring internet service back hopefully by the end of the day today (Thursday). The permanent repair is expected to take through the night.

The loss of connectivity has also left The Farmville Herald office without internet or phone service. Customers needing assistance may email newspaper staff members or send a message through The Farmville Herald Facebook page.
