One person injured in crash in Meherrin

A Nissan sustained heavy damage after running off the road and crashing in Prince Edward County Wednesday morning, May 20. The driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A single-vehicle crash occurred Wednesday morning, May 20, in Meherrin, drawing multiple agencies in response.

“A Nissan ran off the road and crashed near the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road and Miller Court,” VSP Public Relations Director Corinne N. Geller said in the release.

She said the driver was transported to Centra Southside Community Hospital for treatment of injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.

“The crash remains under investigation,” Geller said.

A VSP press release stated the agency responded to the Prince Edward incident at 9:41 a.m.

Agencies responding to the crash scene included the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office, Meherrin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Inc. and VSP.
