Thank you for publishing the very insightful letter regarding Confederate statues from Mr. Taylor Harris of Halifax, Virginia. I wholeheartedly support his facts and views on the subject. The letter was informative, direct and hopefully well-received by our community. Yes, we seek to have a harmonious town, county and state; to deny or seek to change history is counterproductive and divisive. Decisions based on “political correctness” are unpatriotic and shortsighted. Our history “is what it is” to reuse the trite phrase once more.
