Dear Editor:

Has America and the world gone crazy, deaf, dumb, or blind?

I’ve heard a lot of briefings and updates lately concerning the coronavirus pandemic, but at no time have I heard anyone encourage prayer. If we read 2 Chronicles 7, 14 – 15 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

The Prospect Community Annual Revival has had this as their primary theme for years now. I pray we will all adopt it for our personal prayer life.

We will see what it is going to take to whip this coronavirus pandemic.

I have spoken about this many times, preached on it, railed about it, and written about it. Has all of this fallen on deaf ears?

As I’ve said many times our God is a God of love, forgiveness, understanding patience and again, above all, love of mankind. But I don’t believe his patience is infinite. I think he has given us many opportunities to get our lives straight and perhaps this coronavirus pandemic is one more reminder that He is Almighty and He is trying to get our attention.

Yet all of the high officials, including the president and vice-president don’t seem to realize that prayer is the answer.

How many more thousands of deaths will it take to get our attention? I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Please pray faithfully, sincerely and worshipfully. It may be our only hope.
