Buckingham 4-H Extension office is now accepting registrations for Junior 4-H Camp (ages 9-13) and Cloverbud Weekend (ages 5-8). Teens aged 14-18 may apply to be teen leaders at one or both of these camps. Both of these events are overnight camping experiences (in rustic cabins) at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center. Junior 4-H Camp is a fun way for youth to learn life skills while spending time with their friends and learning in their classes and other activities. Early bird cost is offered if registered by April 3. There are discounts for multiple campers in the same household. Financial assistance is also available. Register for Junior 4-H Camp at: http://bit. ly/4HCAMP2020.
Cloverbud Weekend (ages 5-8) is a shorter event designed for the younger age group. Campers experience classes, recreation, and evening programs just like the Junior Campers, but there are a smaller number of campers and everything moves at a slower pace. Bedtime is earlier, too.
Contact the Buckingham Extension Office at (434) 969-4261 for more information.
Central Virginia Gold Prospectors will hold a sign up meeting Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the VFW Post 9446, located at 14405 W. James Anderson Highway in Buckingham.
Whether you go to church or not, this DNow event is for you if you’re a student in 7th – 12th grade in Buckingham or the surrounding area. This year’s DNow (Disciples Now) Youth Conference will be held at Maysville Baptist Church on March 27 and 28.
At DNow, students will enjoy time together as they corporately hear a message from God’s Word and then discuss what they learned in small groups. Students will also enjoy a live band, team and individual games, food and just being together in a fun, safe environment.
Call (434) 969-4657 if you have any questions.
