Evelyn Shirley Weston Lynch left this world to be with the Lord on March 17, 2020. Married for 58 years to her husband William Albert Lynch they resided in Cressona, Pennsylvania raising a family of 5 children. Evelyn worked for Cressona Knit and ended up working in food service for the rest of her working years before retiring at 62. She was an active member of the Grace Free Church in Pennsylvania where she developed lasting friendships. She spent the last three years of her life in Farmville, Virginia with her daughter Susan and as a resident in Brookview Assisted Living of the Woodland forming friendships with the residents and caretakers. She became a member of the Piedmont Church of Christ and continued to serve the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents James Winfield and Marie Mamie Strauss, as well as many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Kay Reading, and family; Cindy Mullen, and family; Susan Lynch and dog Hershey; Lisa Minnich, and family, and William Lynch, and family, and eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She will be buried in Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery with her husband who served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
She would have said this to all those she left behind:
I’m no longer by your side, but there’s no need to weep;
I’ve left sweet recollections, I’m hoping you would keep.
Eternal joy and memories stay in our hearts forever,
Strengthening our special bond that parting cannot sever.
Now it’s time to journey on, So let your faith be strong,
For I am in a better place…I’m home where I belong.
And if times of loneliness Bring sorrow and dismay,
Don’t despair, for I am there…Just a Memory Away.
