Thousands without power after storm

Thousands of households in Buckingham, Cumberland and Prince Edward counties were left without power after a fierce storm made its way through the area last night.
Rain and high winds continued into the morning of Friday, Feb. 7. Fallen trees and flooding were a common sight for those making their way to work Friday morning.
Dominion Energy said up to 3,750 customers were still without power as of 11:30 a.m. Friday, with as many as 2,500 of those outages in Prince Edward County alone.
At the same time, Southside Electric Cooperative reported 105 outages in Cumberland County and 269 outages in Prince Edward County.
WFLO reported 3.18 inches of total rainfall after the night’s storm.
Firefighters and law enforcement are working throughout the day to clear debris.
