Our sympathy is extended to the Carneal Family of Chester. Lizzy Carneal, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9. She was the niece of Grace Hudgins and Mae Rutherford, both of Cumberland. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland and Annie May Miles of Dillwyn all enjoyed an afternoon meal at the Cracker Barrel Family Restaurant in Lynchburg Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Lilly Pearl Call Norman, 87, of Farmville, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 14. She will be greatly missed by all.

The Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee will be hosting its regular monthly meeting Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at the Cumberland Community Center located at 45 South and Davenport Road in Cumberland. The purpose of this meeting is to inform Cumberland County residents and surrounding counties with updated information as to why this Mega Landfill will be detrimental to everyone.
