The Redbud Garden Club held its January meeting at the Prince Edward County Library. Dr. Cynthia Wood was the speaker for the evening.

Woods spoke on using herbs for seasoning foods and provided multiple soups to sample and different desserts to taste. Everyone enjoyed the pound cake and the chocolate gluten-free brownies she provided. It was interesting to see how herbs could enhance flavor to otherwise plain foods.

Exhibits for the evening were, “A Pot of Winter Charm,” which was a favorite house plant and, “A Most Important Month,” featuring a horizontal design using designated silk flowers of the exhibitor’s birth month.
