No arrests made in Friday’s shooting

The Farmville Police Department (FPD) confirmed early Monday afternoon, Feb. 10, no arrests have been made in a shooting reported Friday afternoon, Feb. 7.
Bullets fired during the shooting struck two vehicles and the rear of a residence that fronts Oak Street. There were no reports of injuries.
“Two individuals were detained and questioned, however no arrests have been made at this time,” FPD Capt. Bill Hogan said.
FPD and Longwood University Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on Oak Street near Centra Southside Community Hospital, according to a Longwood alert sent Friday, Feb. 7, at 3:16 p.m.
“There are no reports of injuries,” Hogan said in an interview around 5 p.m. Friday. “We do have a couple of vehicles that appear to have been struck. We’re checking that now, and it is obviously still under investigation. We’re interviewing multiple witnesses.”
An update from Longwood at 4:09 p.m. Friday stated police had secured the area on Oak Street and normal activity could resume in the area. A parking section was taped off as the investigation continued, and people were asked to avoid that area.
