Longwood Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will offer a free marketing workshop at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) March 4 at 9 a.m. The workshop, Marketing 101, is a crash course on how to brand, position and market your business. It will focus on digital channels such as websites, social media and email campaigns.
According to Lin Hite, regional director of Longwood SBDC, the workshop will be packed with helpful information.
“Whether you are a business owner, non-profit director, freelancer or CEO, you will learn something new and applicable to your organization,” he said.
During the interactive class, participants will discover their business’ unique value proposition, define its brand, identify its target customer, audit current marketing channels, prioritize new marketing channels and advertising, grow marketing efforts and explore creative ways to catapult marketing efforts year round.
Guest speaker will be Ilsa Loeser, founder of Letterpress Communications in Farmville. Loeser is an award-winning writer and former newspaper reporter who has spent years developing her craft of telling stories. She has helped businesses quadruple their online reach through social media and blog platforms.
Loeser’s presentation will use real-world examples from Southside Virginia organizations that are telling their story in new and compelling ways, leading to followers, clients and sales.
There is no cost to attend the workshop, but advance registration is required. To register online, visit https:// clients.virginiasbdc. org/reg.aspx?mode= event&event=91400008.
