During its monthly work session Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Farmville Town Council adopted a resolution honoring former Prince Edward County Sheriff Wesley Reed for his years of service.
Sheriff Reed was not re-elected in November when he ran against current Sheriff Tony Epps.
Reed served in law enforcement for 35 years, moving up through the ranks and was elected Sheriff in 2012, a position he held until December 2019.
“Reed had achieved many accomplishments as Sheriff and is held in the highest esteem by his peers and devoted his professional career to serving the Farmville and the Prince Edward County community,” the resolution cited.
