John and Ethel Mae Bickford, of New Canton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Hayley Nicole, to Justin Dyches Midkiff, of Dillwyn.

Justin is the son of Dale and Kathy Midkiff, of Dillwyn.

Hayley’s paternal grandparents are the late James Oral and Louise Davidson Bickford, formally of New Canton. Her maternal grandparents are the late Vernard C. and Nannie Beasley Proffitt, formally of Dillwyn.

Justin’s parenteral grandparents are the (late) Howard Midkiff and Catherine Midkiff, of Cumberland, and Donnie and Wanda Shelton, of Tennessee. His maternal grandparents are Jessalyn Baird Foster, of Dillwyn, and Shelton and Roberta Foster, of Farmville.

Hayley is a 2018 graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies) and is employed as a Consultant Forester for Bickford Timber & Land Management.

Justin is a 2015 graduate of the University of Virginia (Go Hoos) and is the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Buckingham County.

An August 29 wedding is planned at Rolling Hills Farm in Dillwyn.
