No students were injured last week when a Buckingham County school bus was struck by a car while leaving the school.

Superintendent of Buckingham County Public Schools (BCPS) Dr. Daisy Hicks confirmed Wednesday that 26 BCPS students were on board a school bus involved in an accident Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Hicks said the door of the school bus was struck by another vehicle at approximately 3:40 p.m. as the bus exited the school zone.

The students on the bus at the time of the incident were from various grade levels. All students and adults involved in the accident were triaged by EMT personnel. No major injuries were reported.

Hicks said there were six students whose parents opted to seek further medical evaluation from a local hospital following the accident.
