Farmville 701 District Supervisor Jim Wilck drew recognition from the rest of the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, Jan. 14, for his service as board chairman in 2019. Leigh District Supervisor Jerry R. Townsend, the board chairman for 2020, said a few words before presenting Wilck with a plaque. “We’d like to recognize him tonight for the outstanding job he did for the year 2019 as chairman,” Townsend said. “I’m going to tell you now, Supervisor Wilck, he’s passionate, very passionate about any initiative — all of his. And one of his initiatives that he rekindled over (the year) — and he’s still working on that — and that’s that East Third Street (Interchange). And Jim, he goes all out, and he always wants the best for this county.” Pictured are, from left, Buffalo District Supervisor Llew Gilliam Jr., Prince Edward County Administrator Wade Bartlett, Wilck, Hampden District Supervisor Dr. Odessa Pride, Townsend, Prospect District Supervisor and Board Vice Chairman J.
