Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee will be hosting its regular monthly meeting Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. at the Cumberland Community Center located at 45 South and Davenport Road in Cumberland.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform Cumberland County residents and surrounding counties with updated information as to the effects of the mega landfill.

Spreading God’s Gifts Inc., a non-profit organization that helps people in their hour of need in Buckingham and surrounding counties, will be hosting a fundraising dinner on Saturday evening Feb. 1 located at First Baptist Church in Dillwyn. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. to include pork roast and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage all for a donation. Eat in or take out.
