- Geraldine Sanderson examines plants brought in for the plant swap.
The Redbud Garden Club held its November meeting on Nov. 19 at Geraldine Sanderson’s home with Jo Smith serving as co-hostess.
The elves had been busy decorating the house for Christmas. If you were not in the Christmas mood when you arrived — you were by the time you departed. The theme for the evening evolved around a plant swap. Members brought flower bulbs, houseplants and garden plants to share. Members had a choice of rabbit’s foot fern, stick plants, rudbeckia, columbine, cone flower, yarrow, daylilies, tulip, narcissus, and amaryllis bulbs.
Janet Higgins prepared an evening of fun and games which included a word search with flower names and gardening trivia.
The exhibits for the evening were “Watch Your Steps” and “Thinking Spring.” “Watch Your Steps” was a design using articles found in your yard. Winners were blue, Rebecca Giles, Mary Hazlegrove, Janet Higgins, Ann Ligon, Nancy Schaeffer, Sarah Schember; red: Dottie Fahrner.
