The investigation remains open regarding a Nov. 8 trailer fire that occurred at 35 Hatchers Trailer Court in the Hampden-Sydney area, though the fire, which involved two people injured inside the home, has been deemed not to be suspicious.

At the request of the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police (VSP) Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Appomattox Field Office responded to the scene around 11:38 p.m. that night. VSP Public Relations Director Corinne N. Geller said that at this stage of the investigation, the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature. “The origin and cause remain under investigation,” she stated.
