On Saturday, Nov. 2, Friends of the Appomattox River (FAR) conducted its annual fall Waterways Cleanup. Twenty-two FAR members participated. Trash, pictured below, weighing over 1,100 pounds was removed from the Appomattox River, lower sections of Gross Creek, Briery Creek Lake, Buffalo Creek and Wilck’s Lake. The Town of Farmville and Clean Virginia Waterways of Longwood University also participated in this event.
