Tanner Wise, a tenth-grader at Buckingham County High School, won Grand Champion Katahdin Ewe at the Youth Sheep Show held at the Five County Fair in Farmville on Sept. 23. In addition to the plaque that Wise won for winning Grand Champion, he also won 1st place Katahdin Ewe (with his senior ewe), Reserve Champion and 1st place Katahdin Ewe (with his yearling ewe), 4th place Market Lamb, and 4th place Senior Showmanship. Wise is president of the Buckingham/Cumberland 4-H Livestock Club and is the son of David and Sherri Wise of Poplar View Farm in Dillwyn. Pictured is Tanner with one his award winning Katahdin ewes.
