Winners crowned at fair

Young ladies from Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland and Prince Edward counties gathered in the last week of September to compete in pageants at this year’s Five County Fair in Farmville.
Festivities kicked off on Sept. 24 with the Little Miss Five County Fair Pageant. The title of Little Miss Five County Fair was awarded to Laynie-Grey Reeves. Emma Agee was awarded first runner-up and the title of second runner-up went to Arizona Shores.
Later that night the Petite Miss Five County Fair crown was awarded to Briella Doss. The titles of first runner- up and second runner-up went to Sara Jamerson and Addison Tobias, respectively.
The evening closed with the Junior Miss Five County Fair Pageant, where Johnna Stevens won the crown. The title of first runner-up went to Kasandra Buczek. Abigail Palmore received second runner-up.
The Miss Teen Five County Fair Pageant was held on Sept. 25. The crown went to Lauren Shanks. Jocelyn Spigler received first runner-up.
The title of Miss Five County Fair was given to Alexandra Turney. First runner-up for the Miss Five County Fair Pageant was awarded to Rachel Bardon. Second runner-up went to Erin Webber.
The ladies went home sporting assorted trophies, sashes, crowns and smiles.
