The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts (LCVA) is proud to announce the chairs of its 2020 Biennial Winter Gala, Jackie and Chris Sadler. The 2020 black tie winter gala will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 from 8 p.m.-midnight in the Blackwell Ballroom at Longwood University in Farmville. The honorary chairs are longtime LCVA supporters, Dr. Carolyn Wells and Dr. Barbara Smith.

The LCVA’s widely anticipated winter gala is the best attended event of its kind in the region. All proceeds support the LCVA’s community outreach programs. More than 500 attendees will delight in an elegant evening while enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and live music. A live auction, featuring fine arts and crafts, complements a sale gallery.

Jackie noted, “We support the LCVA because it is community focused and brings together a rich and diverse group of people. The LCVA is a place where all are welcome. The LCVA provides great art and education to all and provides our town and South Central Virginia with exhibits and programs one would not expect to be available in a town of this size.”

The Sadlers commented, “We are excited by the whole gala experience. We have such a committed group of folks working hard and having a good time doing it. This is going to be a spectacular event; we have a great theme, great decorations and a signature drink. I am looking forward to the whole atmosphere of the event.”

The 2020 gala theme, Dream, invites guests to join the LCVA in letting our hopes and aspirations for the future. LCVA Executive Director, Rachel Talent Ivers stated that, “In the past, our collective dreaming brought life to the LCVA as it exists today, whether that is an exhibition in downtown Farmville, or hands-on interdisciplinary art activity in classrooms in our 14-county service area. We continue to dream about who we can become when we work together to be the change we wish to see in our community.”

Gala sponsorships are available now, and ticket packages go on sale Jan. 13. Gala sponsors have the opportunity to join an exclusive sponsors-only reception two hours in advance of the gala, which includes early access to the sale gallery.
