It is difficult to describe in words what Gerry Spates has meant to the Town of Farmville and its residents. For those of you who have lived here for years, you know how much Gerry gave to this town. When you walk through the portals of the Town Hall it all becomes obvious that this is the Town that Gerry built.

I have known Gerry Spates for only a few years, and respect and admire him. I have come to know him as a hands on manager. If a resident had a problem, it was Gerry’s problem. If you called him on the phone with a concern, before you knew it, Gerry would be at your door ready to assist.

Gerry, we wish you all the very best in your retirement.
