Fuqua 43, St. Michael the Archangel 41 – Final
Fuqua School’s varsity football team found itself down for much of the game Friday night against its undefeated, 3-0, visitor, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School, but the Falcons showed why they were 3-0 too, overtaking their new conference rivals in the fourth quarter to win 43-41.
Buckingham 35, Central Lunenburg 6 – Final
Buckingham County High School’s varsity football team pulled away early against visiting Central Lunenburg High School, taking a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and turning it into a 35-6 victory.
Amelia 38, Prince Edward 14 – Final
Prince Edward County High School’s varsity football team kept things close for a half against Amelia County High School, with the Eagles trailing only 20-14 at halftime, but the Raiders were able to establish separation on the scoreboard in the second half to hand the Eagles a 38-14 home loss.
Goochland 55, Cumberland 6 – Final
The undermanned Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 1 Cumberland County High School varsity football team had the towering challenge of taking on VHSL Class 3 Goochland High School on Friday in Goochland, and the Bulldogs came away with a definitive 55-6 win.
