Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee will be hosting their regular monthly meeting on Sunday, Oct. 13, at
3 p.m. at the Cumberland Community Center located at 45 South and Davenport Road in Cumberland. The purpose of this meeting is to inform Cumberland County Residents and surrounding counties with updated information as to why this Mega Landfill will be detrimental to everyone. All are welcome to attend.
The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Courtroom.
Happy birthday wishes go out this week to the following people: Scott Midkiff of Cumberland on Friday, Sept. 20 and his wife Sherry Midkiff on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Welcome all to the 13th annual fellowship gospel singing featuring “Smokey Wilson & Michael Wayne Smith.” This will take place at Becky and Linda’s Powell’s Home on Friday, Sept. 20 from 5-9 p.m. located 460 Holland Road, Farmville. Food and drinks will be provided. All you will need is a chair and a desire for a Blessing. So come and join us for a time of uplifting, praise and fellowship with friends and family. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non- profit organization, will be hosting their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at Teresa’s Place, Sprouses Corner. All members and their guests that plan to attend will need to pay for their own meal.
