Zehner steps down after 45 years

After 45 years at Putney Mechanical Co., Inc. Joseph M. Zehner has stepped down as president of the company. He has sold his interest in the Corporation, leaving W. Parker Terry, Jr. as sole owner. The company was founded following World War II when S. Waverly Putney, Jr. returned to Farmville and purchased the then Noel Brothers company. Zehner, Putney’s son-in-law, joined the company in January 1974. In 1980 Zehner and Terry purchased the Corporation. Putney Mechanical provides residential and commercial plumbing, electrical and HVAC contracting and repair services in Farmville and the surrounding area. Zehner will continue to be employed by the company on a part-time basis providing accounting services. Pictured are, from left, Zehner and Terry.
