Prince Edward County High School’s varsity golf team entered this week with a 3-5 record after participating in four tri-matches so far this season. Regarding this start, Eagles Head Coach Michael Weaver said, “I feel great. I’m not sure if we won a match last year, and we’ve already got three under our belt, so I’m ecstatic.” Prince Edward’s final match last week came Thursday at Kinderton Country Club and was interrupted by lightning after seven holes. Weaver said Bluestone High School won with a 120 score, the Eagles shot a 121 and Buckingham County High School shot a 122. He said it was an outstanding day for Eagles No. 1 golfer Robert Raymond, pictured above. “When I went to pull him off, he’s like, ‘Really? Come on! I’m shooting the best game I’ve shot all year,’” Weaver said. Eagles golfers Trey Conwell and Sam Detrick have also shined.
