Dixie Youth Baseball teams from Prince Edward and Buckingham counties competed at the state level this past week in Victoria, and each did so with a key ingredient to their success — a loyal fanbase. The Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association (PEFYA) and Buckingham County Youth League each had an all-star squad competing in the eight-team 2019 Dixie Youth Baseball Major League State Tournament on Lenhart Field. Right next door, PEFYA also had an all-star squad competing in the four-team 2019 Dixie Youth Baseball Machine Pitch State Tournament on Neblett Field.
