Ivan “Chip” P. Davis, Jr. received his Honorary FFA State Degree on June 19 at the 93rd Virginia FFA State Convention. This honor is bestowed to persons who are avid supporters of the FFA. Davis is a former agricultural education instructor of 12 years, most of which was in Buckingham County. After teaching he served four years as the Buckingham CTE director and then Facilities Director for BCPS Schools. For the last six years he has served as a member of the Buckingham County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, four of which he has served as president. With his leadership, the committee has been a great supporter of the county’s FFA chapters. Personally, Davis has also volunteered the family farm to serve as the site for many FFA events including forestry practice and the Southeast Area Tractor Operator’s Contest.
