Winners in the ‘Love Summer in Farmville’ campaign recognized

Prince Edward County Tourism is sponsoring a “Love Summer in Farmville” tourism campaign for summer 2019. Students from Prince Edward County, representing both the public and private schools in the county, participated in an art contest as part of the kick-off of the campaign.
Students were invited to create original artwork that includes the word “love” in it, a nod to the campaign theme, Virginia’s tourism theme, and the town’s “Love” sign. A total of 88 entries were received; students who placed in the contest at all levels, high school, middle school and elementary school, were recently recognized at the board of supervisors meeting.
The students who placed in the contest will have their original artwork featured on postcards that will be available at various businesses throughout the county during the summer. The postcards will be a promotional giveaway item during the three weekend events taking place in June, July and September.
