Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. Hatcher Baptist Church of Cumberland welcomes all to attend a celebration in honor of Pastor Cameron Cloud and his family on Sunday at 6 p.m. as they have been serving the Church for the past 20 years and now Pastor Cloud has been led by the Lord to pastor another church in North Carolina.

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Courtroom.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, is sponsoring a one day bus trip on Thursday, Aug. 1, to The Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre (WHDT) in Wytheville, to the show entitled “A Country Gospel.” WHDT is happy to present it’s version of “good ole” country gospel. The production will feature favorite songs that we grew up singing from spiritual, happy, hand-clapping numbers to sweet beautiful inspirational hymns played by our own talented musicians.
