The Farmville Wine Festival, held April 20 off North Main Street, hosted families and friends all around the Heart of Virginia.

The event featured 10 wineries, live bands and numerous vendors selling food, jewelry and other goods. While the event was moved to the lot adjacent to Riverside Park due to the flooding, Organizer Cheryl Gibson said approximately 1,000 people attended the festival.

She said the event raised approximately $24,000 in total for the Prince Edward Meals on Wheels, which feeds numerous individuals in the community and only receives local funding. The event was held in honor of Gibson‘s husband, David, who died in November 2018.
