The driver of a pickup truck that overturned early morning on April 29 at the 400 block of Old Buckingham Road was hospitalized, according to officials at Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD).

“Upon arrival, units found a pickup truck overturned in a field,” CVFD officials cited. “The driver had been ejected from the vehicle and was taken by helicopter to (Virginia Commonwealth University) VCU.”

Representative Bradley Ingle said May 1 that the condition of the driver was not known. He said a potential cause of the accident is being investigated by Virginia State Police (VSP).
