More on the ACP

Editor:

I would like to add a little more to the opinion that was written by my friend, Mr. Sykes (in The Herald.) He left a few things out. I believe he is correct when he acknowledges the shortcoming of renewable energy and existing energy modes.

1. The gas extracted from West Virginia does horrible damage to that area and its water. 2. The installation of the big pipeline will bring about horrendous destruction to the terrain of all the counties in the path of the pipeline. 3. We live in an earthquake area. So what. There hasn’t been one in years. 4. Pipeline explosions are minimal. We only hear about the big ones where people are killed. 5. Toxic defoliant is sprayed onto the pipeline path. This may kill many birds. 6. The toxins released from the compressor station will go whichever way the wind blows.

I hope readers will be aware of all these hazards of the pipeline and compressor station.
