Man dies after collision

There has been one confirmed fatality following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday in Prince Edward County.
The collision, which involved a Kia Soul and a tractor-trailer, occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday on Route 360, less than a mile west of Orchard Road, according to Virginia State Police.
The driver of the Kia Soul, Yahya Khalil Abdurrahman, 34, of Meherrin, died after the accident, according to police.
“A Kia Soul was traveling east on Route 360 when it crossed through the median and struck head-on a westbound tractor-trailer,” State Police officials said Wednesday.
Abdurrahman was transported to a Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, where he was pronounced deceased, according to police.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to state police.
