People and organizations in the community held several events this past weekend to honor and keep alive the memory of the men and women who have died in military service for the U.S. This is the purpose of Memorial Day, which officially arrived Monday. On the afternoon of that day, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7059 held a brief ceremony at The Woodland Inc., highlighting members of all five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as their loved ones.
