Writing contest winners

Central Virginia Christian School hosted a writing contest for students in grades 2-8. Winners were second/third grade Poetry, first place Jacob Johnson. Second/third grade Short Story, first place Briana Wilson, second place William Hogge, third place Deborah Jiang. Fourth/fifth grade Poetry, first place Anna Snoddy, second place Esther Jiang, third place Piper Scialdo. Fourth/fifth grade Short Story, first place Emma Ranson, second place Larken Watson, third place Aubree Anderson. Middle School Poetry, first place Gavin Yoder, second place Angelique Lightbody, third place Brandon Crews. Middle School Short Story, first place Charlotte Espinoza, second place Olivia Canipe, third place Micah Wilson. Register for the 2019 Stockmanship Clinic being held May 9 and 10 at the BARN facility in Buckingham from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Learn how to increase profitability without additional costs through techniques applied during daily routine. The “Wizard of Oz” will make movie time fun at the Buckingham County Public Library. Join them at noon on Friday for this feature film.
Pastor Kippy Lundy, Lady Cynthia Lundy, and members of the Third Liberty Baptist Church will have Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday at 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast. Regular service is at 10 a.m. All are welcome. Third Liberty Baptist Church is located at 2244 C.G. Woodson Road, New Canton.
If you’ve got old tires to get rid of, bring them out on Saturday, from 7-11:30 a.m. to the Old Dillwyn Primary School on U.S. Route 15. Citizens with a current county sticker can bring up to 25 regular tires per household for free. Tires accepted are up to 8:25, nothing larger and no tires with rims, no tractor tires, commercial tires, or equipment tires.
The Buckingham Charge Easter sunrise service will be held on Sunday at Browns Chapel at 6:30 a.m., with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Worship services will be held at 8:30 a.m. and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome. For more information contact (434) 983-2269.
Concord Baptist Church will hold Easter services at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at the church’s Focus Center, located at the intersection of Francisco and Deer Run Roads at Sheppards. Everyone is welcome.
St. Andrews Baptist Church in Dillwyn welcomes everyone to services on Easter Sunday, to include 7 a.m. sunrise service, 8 a.m. breakfast, 9 a.m. Sunday school, and 10 a.m. worship.
