Tigers improve to 12-4

Senior captain attackman John Burke, junior attackman Jack Hayden and freshman midfielder Sean Duffy each posted two goals and two assists to lead Hampden-Sydney College (H-SC) to a 17-7 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s lacrosse victory over Ferrum College on Saturday at Fulton Field in Lewis C. Everett Stadium.

Sophomore attackman Jared Medwar had three goals and sophomore attackman Jake O’Brien added one goal and one assist for the host Tigers, who led 13-3 at halftime against the visiting Panthers, who are now 2-14 overall, including 1-8 in the ODAC.

H-SC scored the first four goals of the contest and never looked back, taking a 7-3 advantage after one quarter. The Tigers held a 16-4 advantage after three quarters of play.

Contributing in goal during the game for H-SC was junior captain Nick Arcuri, senior Nick Steen and sophomore William Schlager.

Sophomore midfielder Jack Brummett was 13-for-15 on faceoffs and collected nine ground balls.

Hampden-Sydney (12-4, 7-2 ODAC) closes the regular season Saturday on the road at the University of Lynchburg, set for a 7 p.m. start.
