The Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter NSDAR recently honored the Chapter winners of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award during its March 9, Scholarship and Awards Presentation held at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library. This year’s winners were Robert Brian Ball of Fuqua School; JaShyra Wortham of Cumberland County High School; and Nadia Lee of Prince Edward County High School, who was also the Chapter Essay Winner. The DAR Good Citizen Program, chaired by Dr. Nancy Vick, recognizes outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools and communities. This program is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship and is open to all high school seniors enrolled in public or private schools accredited by the Virginia Board of Education. Each winner received a DAR Good Citizen certificate, pin, and a monetary gift. Pictured are, from left, Dr. Vick, Ball, Lee, Wortham and Regent Melody Ramsey.
