MONTHLY SELF-PAY LUNCHEON, 1 p.m. of the MOAA (Military Officers Association of America) at the Riverside Café, 522 N. Main St., Farmville. All active, former and retired military officers and spouses/widows are welcome to attend. Programs pertain to military interests and issues.

KENTUCKY DERBY GALA FUNDRAISER, 7-9 p.m. PSR will be selling tickets for the Derby Gala at the LCVA Wine & Brew event for a special price. Ticket includes meals, libations, charity gambling and live music with South Bound Band.

APRIL 26-28

MEETING, 10 a.m. of the Appreciation Quilt Group at First Baptist Church Social Hall, 815 North Main St., South Boston. Beginners welcome. The quilts are sent to military hospitals overseas and to the VA home in Salem. Questions call Ellie at (434) 572-1998.

TOUR, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. of the newly constructed Eugene B. Casey Education and Event Center.

NATIONAL DRUG TAKE BACK DAY, noon-4 p.m. sponsored by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, partnering with the Cumberland County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office, Cumberland Pharmacy and Cardinal Health to provide a drop-off for expired or unused medications at the Patriot Day Celebration at the Cumberland Courthouse. This is a great way to properly dispose of unwanted or expired medications.

BOOK DISCUSSION, 2-3 p.m. at Farmville Library, entitled “Burning Bright.”

BARBECUE SUPPER, 4-7 p.m. to benefit Relay Team, “Friends for a Cure” at Red Oak Excavating in Red Oak. Tickets can be purchased by calling Teresa Osborne at (434) 470-1955 or purchase at the door. You can eat in or take out. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE, 8:30 a.m. of the Robert R. Moton/ Prince Edward County School Reunion Committee at the Moton Museum, 900 Griffin Blvd., Farmville.

SERVICES, at Farmville Baptist Church. Bible Study at 9:45 a.m. with Worship service at 11 a.m.

SERVICE, 11 a.m. at The New Rehoboth Baptist Church of Keysville. Guest speaker for the day will be Evangelist Carolyn Goode. All are welcome to come and worship with and have a high time in the Lord.
