Join the Farmville Downtown Partnership (FDP) for the fourth annual Supporting Outstanding Urban Projects (SOUP) event to be held March 29, 6 p.m. at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts located at 129 N. Main St. The FDP offers grants to proposed projects benefiting the community. During the event those chosen by a committee will present their proposals. Last year a $1,500 grant was awarded to the Central VA Young Authors to publish stories and host book signings for Farmville students who wrote about the Farmville area. A Wildflower/Butterfly Garden in the area of the High Bridge Plaza, presented by Kay Huggard, Callie Vogel and Tom Huggard was awarded a $1,000 grant.
