Jennifer Wall and Larissa Fergeson hosted the Longwood Garden Club on Monday, March 25, at Wall’s home.

Dr. Christopher Labosier, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science for Longwood University spoke on Urban Trees and Heat Islands in the Town of Farmville.

The arrangement for the day was “Blossom by Blossom the Spring Begins – A Panel Arrangement.”

Four members exhibited five arrangements. Shirley Blackwell, Marianne Dennison and Ann Morton Neale were awarded blue ribbons for their efforts, and Vellie Dietrich-Hall was awarded a white ribbon.

Fifteen members exhibited 31 horticultural specimens. Shirley Blackwell, Marianne Dennison, Vellie Dietrich-Hall, Harlan Horton, Kitty Hubbard, Rachel Ivers, Ann Morton Neale, Charles Ross, Jennifer Wall and David Whaley were awarded blue ribbons. Pamelia Brumfield, Reed Horton, Peggy Kelsey, Kerry Mossler and Sumati Sternberg were awarded red ribbons
