On March 27, partners of Go Virginia (GOVA) Region 3, Southern Virginia’s business-led economic development initiative, will gather at The Prizery in South Boston for its semiannual All-Hands Meeting. Business leaders, educators, government officials and anyone else dedicated to the economic vitality of Southern Virginia are encouraged to attend. The event will include a workshop, presentations and a panel discussion.

“When Council developed the Growth and Diversification Investment Plan two years ago, it uncovered not just new opportunities but also many hidden ‘diamonds’ — successes already occurring in our footprint,” explained Liz Povar, program manager for GO Virginia Region 3.

We want to celebrate those successes and give our communities an opportunity to learn from each other.”

Keynote Speaker Larry Terry, director of the University of Virginia Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, will use these success stories as the basis for his thoughts about leadership in action. In addition to project updates on Go Virginia initiatives, success stories featured at the All-Hands Meeting will include Girls who Code, Halifax County; The Southern Virginia Food Hub, South Hill; Racing Ahead – The Virgina International Raceway Advantage, Alton; The Randolph-Henry Land Laboratory, Charlotte County and the Ballad Brewing Company, Danville and Farmville.
