The annual Ducks Unlimited banquet, held March 14 at the lower Fuqua School auditorium, brought close to 300 people from around the region to enjoy food, good company, and a chance to bid on hunting gear, decoys, watches, furniture, BB and shot guns, and an arcade-style single shot basketball game.

The banquet raised more than $50,000 for Ducks Unlimited, a nonprofit that seeks to conserve wetlands and other habitats where waterfowl live. Jimmy McDilda with the Farmville Ducks Unlimited committee, said this year’s event, consistent with past years, was a success.
