Sweetheart dance raises funds for department

- Jennifer Huddleston, Megan Huddleston, Alexis Crews and Bob Huddleston take part in the Sweetheart Dance at Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department.
Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary hosted a Valentine’s Day-themed dance at the fire department Saturday.
The event included music performed by DJ Bob Huddleston from Buckingham County and a 50/50 raffle.

The Sweetheart Dance is expected to be the first of many the department hosts. The Auxiliary has hosted dances for St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween.
The funds from the event will go toward the fire department’s services. The fire department recently purchased a new air conditioning unit. Funds are also set to go toward maintenance for trucks and turnout gear.
