Something exciting is going to happen in 2019, but you better hurry because time is running out. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, is sponsoring a three day, two night trip to Lancaster Pennsylvania Tuesday, April 2-4. The trip includes round trip motorcoach transportation, two nights lodging, two deluxe continental breakfasts, two dinners, a two-hour farmland tour, time for shopping and the show “Jesus,” at Sight and Sound Theater. Visiting in the home of James and Virginia Boyles of Cumberland on Saturday afternoon were Annie May Miles of Dillwyn and Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland. A nice visit was had by all.
Cumberland County Landfill Awareness Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. A Parent/Community information night on Human Trafficking will be held on Monday from 6-7 p.m. at the Cumberland High School/ Cumberland Elementary School Cafetorium. The purpose of this event is to learn the facts about the second largest international crime industry primarily targeting women and children. This event is being sponsored by The Cumberland Woman’s Club and Cumberland County Public Schools.

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Courtroom.
